CONDITIONS WE CAN HELP WITH...

Auto-immune disorders

An auto immune disease arises from an overactive immune system, whereby the body attacks its own cells. In these circumstances the body mistakes some part of itself for a pathogen and attacks it. There are more than 80 different auto-immune diseases, examples include: Coeliac disease, Diabetes mellitus type 1, Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Hashimotos thyroiditis, Grave's disease, Ankylosing spondilitis, Crohn's disease, Psoriasis, Ulcerative colitis, Vitiligo.

Normally the immune system's army of white cells protect the body systems from harmful substances called antigens. Examples of antigens include; viruses, bacteria, toxins and cancer cells. The immune system produces antibodies to destroy these substances. In a person with an auto-immune disease, the body can't distinguish between antigens and healthy body tissue. The result being an immune response that destroys healthy bodily tissue.

An autoimmune disorder may result in:
• The destruction of one or more types of body tissue
• Abnormal growth of an organ
• Changes in organ function

An auto immune disease may affect one or more organ or tissue type, most commonly affected by auto-immune responses are; red blood cells, blood vessels, connective tissues, endocrine glands such as the thyroid or pancreas, muscles, joints and skin.

At Nutrition Mission we aim to control the auto immune response, maintain the body's ability to fight disease, address nutritional deficiencies as well as addressing the individual symptoms which present with the disease.
Back
After years of my daughter suffering with allergies and eczema Nutrition Mission helped us find the cause of these health issues and then devised a plan to help us get her on the road to recovery. In just a short time we have seen huge improvements and she is now a different child! I would definitely recommend Nutrition Mission.
