CONDITIONS WE CAN HELP WITH...
ArthritisThe term arthritis means joint inflammation. There are many types of arthritis but the 2 most common ones are; osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis (also known as rheumatism) is a degenerative joint disease that more commonly strikes older people as it occurs as a result of wear and tear on the joints although obesity, joint trauma, repetitive use, osteoporosis and food intolerances or allergies are also risk factors. The joints most commonly affected are the fingers, the base of the thumb, the hips, the knees, the big toe and the spine. The pain of osteoarthritis starts slowly and gradually gets worse as the condition progresses. Symptoms include; deep aching pain, swelling, tenderness and decreased function.
A Nutrition Mission therapist will identify triggering factors of arthritis and adjust your diet accordingly, usually eliminating inflammatory foods within your diet and replacing them with alternatives that do not encourage inflammation.
